Welded offset chain
Welded Steel Offset Chain is a special type of industrial chain made from high-strength steel plates through precision welding processes. Its key feature lies in the "offset" design of the chain plates (i.e., the plates are bent or offset in structure), which provides the chain with enhanced impact resistance, flexibility, and load adaptability. Typically used in heavy-duty, low-speed, and high-wear industrial environments, it serves as a replacement for traditional standard roller chains.
Chain Plate Design:
The chain is constructed with bent or S-shaped steel plates welded together. The offset plate design helps distribute stress, reduce rigid friction during operation, and enhance resistance to lateral forces.
Welding Process:
Links are secured through resistance welding or laser welding, ensuring high weld strength and preventing pin detachment, making it suitable for heavy-duty applications.
Material Selection:
Commonly made from high-quality alloy steel (e.g., 40Cr, 65Mn) or heat-treated carbon steel (quenched and tempered), achieving a hardness of HRC 40-60 for superior wear and corrosion resistance.
Attachment Flexibility:
Can be equipped with scrapers, crossbars, and other attachments to accommodate various conveying needs.
High Load Capacity:
The offset plate structure distributes load effectively, with single-link tensile strength ranging from several tons to tens of tons (e.g., ANSI-standard welded offset chains can have a breaking load exceeding 30,000 lbs).
Impact & Vibration Resistance:
The curved plates absorb shock energy, making them ideal for high-vibration environments such as mining and metallurgy.
Wear Resistance:
Chain plates can be zinc-plated, nickel-plated, or coated with wear-resistant materials to extend service life in dusty or humid conditions.
Self-Cleaning Design:
Gaps between offset plates minimize material buildup, making them suitable for conveying sticky substances (e.g., cement, slag).
Low Maintenance:
The absence of rollers reduces failure points, resulting in longer maintenance intervals.
1. Heavy Industry Sector:
Mining Equipment: Used in scraper conveyors and bucket elevators for transporting ores and coal.
Metallurgical Industry: High-temperature furnace charge conveying (requires heat-resistant steel material).
2. Building Materials & Chemical Industry:
Cement Plants: Raw meal/clinker conveying, resistant to dust abrasion.
Fertilizer Production: Material handling in corrosive environments.
3. Agriculture & Food Processing:
Grain Handling: Offset chains resist material clogging, ideal for inclined conveying of grains and feed.
Slaughter Lines: Stainless steel offset chains for meat processing equipment.
4. Environmental Protection & Energy:
Waste Incineration Plants: Corrosion-resistant chains for waste conveying.
Wastewater Treatment: Sludge scraper conveyors.
